Islamorada Women’s Sailfish Tournament Teams Up with ‘Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing’
ISLAMORADA, Florida Keys — The Islamorada Women’s Sailfish Tournament celebrates its 40th year, as well as its new affiliation with the Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing organization, Jan. 31 through Feb. 2 in Islamorada.
The tournament kickoff party, silent auction and raffle are set for Friday, Jan. 31, at Islamorada’s Safe Harbor Angler House, mile marker 80.5 bayside. Women anglers are to fish either from their own boats or with charter captains. Men are allowed to serve as captains or mates.
Fishing is set for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2. Anglers are to gather Saturday evening for a social networking event at Sea La Vie boutique, mile marker 80.3 oceanside. An awards ceremony is planned for 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Safe Harbor Angler House.
Awards await the first-, second- and third-place teams, as well as the high-point angler and the captain and mate on the first-place team. Other awards are to be given for the top mahi-mahi, tuna and kingfish.

Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing is dedicated to attracting women and families to fishing while encouraging conservation and responsible angling. The organization conducts immersion-based educational programs throughout Florida, with classroom presentations and hands-on practice followed by fishing from boats or on land.
