'Man v. Food Nation' Explores Flavors of the Florida Keys

FLORIDA KEYS — Three Florida Keys restaurants are to take center stage in the Travel Channel's "Man v. Food Nation," when host Adam Richman samples signature Keys dishes in a taped episode set to debut at 9 p.m. ET Wednesday, July 6.

Eateries spotlighted include the Hogfish Bar & Grill on Stock Island, where Richman savors the "Killer Hogfish" sandwich of locally caught fish in a casual waterfront atmosphere.

Musician and Florida resident Vanilla Ice joins Richman at Key West's Blue Heaven to taste the historic spot's towering meringue-topped Key lime pie. He also explains why the Keys are home to the best Key lime pie.

At the Key Largo Conch House, the show stages the Conch Republic Fritter Contest to determine who can eat the most conch fritters in 15 minutes. Richman coaches an engaging underdog contestant in how to chow down on the classic Keys appetizer.

After its initial July 6 airing, the Keys episode is to rerun nine times through Monday, July 18.
