Weather Warnings, Advisories Discontinued for Keys
FLORIDA KEYS – Weather-related warnings and advisories for the Florida Keys have been discontinued following Tuesday's brush with Hurricane Idalia, as a tropical storm.
There were no significant impacts from Idalia brushing the Keys as a tropical storm, according to Monroe County Emergency Management Director Shannon Weiner.
Keys infrastructure — including the Florida Keys Overseas Highway, electricity, communications and water transmission — is operating normally, she said. There are no reports of notable damage.
Both Key West International Airport and Florida Keys Marathon International Airport are operating normally, according to Monroe County Airports Director Richard Strickland.
The Port of Key West reopened to commercial traffic Wednesday, U.S. Coast Guard officials reported.
Dry Tortugas National Park reopened Thursday and the park's ferry and seaplane tours are running tours on their normal schedules.
Bahia Honda State Park in the Lower Keys is open. Camping reservations are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park in Key West, including the beach, is open.
