ISLAMORADA, Florida Keys — Live musical performers representing Americana, blues, rock, funk and other genres are to entertain audiences from midday into the evening Sunday, April 5, at Islamorada’s Bay Jam 26.

Bay Jam 26’s featured artist is Ajeva (ah-JAY-vuh), a band from St. Petersburg, Florida, whose progressive funk rock sound is considered music for the soul.

Popular Bay Jam veterans and Florida Keys bands are to share the outdoor stage, including the Nag Champayons known for their “Afrogalactic tropadelic” sound. The Steve Venini Band and Scott Youngberg are to serve up Americana and blues; Micah and the Barstool Sailors set a cool tropical vibe; The Carousers and Key Largo’s Radio Ghost play pure rock and blues; and Dave Feder, one of Bay Jam’s founders and continuous guiding spirit, is to please listening audiences with his Bohemian Flamenco group.

Other attractions include local and regional artisans and craftspeople, merchandise, cool drinks, locally crafted beers and island edibles.

Music lovers can bring lawn chairs and blankets or enjoy a swim at the bayside beach. Coolers are not permitted, but well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome.

The not-for-profit Islamorada Community Entertainment presents the daylong music festival. Gates open at 10 a.m. at the ICE Amphitheater at Founders Park, mile marker 87 bayside on Plantation Key. Live performances begin at 11 a.m. and continue until sunset. Parking is available inside Founders Park.

Although general admission is free, donations are encouraged. Proceeds from the festival help fund in-school programs and arts and music scholarships for Upper Keys high school students as well as grants for local artists. Since 1995, ICE events have contributed over $750,000 toward these grants.
