- The Key West Museum of Art & History's Custom House Museum's latest exhibition—Don Pinder: Eyes on the Island—is the first exhibition devoted exclusively to the work created by Key West Citizen photographer Don Pinder (1925-2003) during his long career in Key West—including many works never before published or shown. - The Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden is showcasing local artists’, community members’ and local students’ unique versions of the fall season’s Scarecrows in the Tropical Forest. The scarecrows, made from natural and recycled materials, may be discovered throughout the 15-acre garden. - Presented by Islamorada Community Entertainment, Beats on the Bay returns to Founders Park amphitheater with an evening performance by the Music City Stones. This Nashville-based Rolling Stones tribute band features lead singer Louis Lee, who provides a spot-on rendition of Mick Jagger. Food trucks will be there and beer and wine is to be available for purchase. 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. There is a $10 parking fee but the show is free. Bring your own seating. No coolers allowed. - Remember loved ones who have passed during Islamorada's annual Dia de los Muertos celebration. Dress in bright colors, incorporate flowers into your costume and paint your face in the style of a traditional sugar skull. Begin at 5 p.m. with a kid-friendly sugar skull-making workshop at Florida Keys Brewing Company - mile marker 81.6 bayside. The workshop is free for youth under 21 and $5 for adults. It is followed by a Day of the Dead procession and traditional Afro-Mexican Fandango with special guest choreographers and music by the Ameyal Folkloric Ensemble.

- "Dewey Defeats Truman" Event at Harry S. Truman Little White House

- The Harry S. Truman Foundation celebrates the 75th anniversary of what what some call "the most famous political photograph of all time" on Nov. 4 with a free event from Noon to 2 p.m. at the Harry S. Truman Little White House, 111 Front St. The image in question is that of Harry S. Truman holding up the erroneous "Dewey Defeats Truman" Chicago Daily Tribune headline from the rear platform of the Ferdinand Magellan railcar. At the event, a railcar set prop can be enjoyed for photos. Attendees are requested to wear the 33rd president's preferred Key West attire of Hawaiian shirts. Light refreshments and dessert will be served.

The Studio's Stephen Kitsakos sits down with Tipper to discuss her filmmaking and acting career, as well as screen a curated selection of short films. Tipper is a visiting artist and is currently working on her first feature film screenplay. - Each year anglers compete for honors in the fly, general tackle, and artificial divisions for snook, redfish, bonefish, tarpon and permit with tournament activities at the Cheeca Lodge & Spa. Each year several war heroes are invited to compete in honor of Veterans Day. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Bonefish & Tarpon Trust, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to conserve and restore bonefish, tarpon and permit fisheries and habitats through research, stewardship, education and advocacy.

- Pigeon Key features a screening of "True Lies," the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie that includes shots filmed over the Old Seven Mile Bridge, on Friday, Nov. 10. - The SMART Ride 20, Pedal to Paradise

- The SMART Ride, also called the Southern Most AIDS/HIV Ride, is a 2-day, 165 mile bicycle ride from Miami to Key West. Riders begin their trek Friday from University of Miami, pedaling 100 miles to Hawks Cay Resort on Duck Key. On Saturday, the group pedals the remaining 65 miles to Key West for closing ceremonies and celebrations. This 20th anniversary SMART Ride is to be the last one. SMART Ride has given back 100 percent of its fundraising proceeds, totaling $15 million to AIDS service organizations in Florida since 2003.

- The “Harbor Walk of Lights” stretches along the seawall past Greene, William and Margaret Streets to the Key West Ferry Terminal. A nautical theme honors the maritime history of the Key West waterfront. The harbor walk area in the Historic Seaport glimmers with holiday displays throughout the season, all themed to celebrate the island city’s maritime heritage. Elements include tens of thousands of lights, dozens of lighted palm trees, a lobster trap holiday tree, a nautically decorated pine and a tree adorned with fishing buoys that resemble giant ornaments.

- The Conch Republic Military Forces and the U.S. Coast Guard celebrate the end of America's hurricane season with a Burning of the Hurricane Flags and Conch Thanksgiving ceremony, Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Truman Waterfront in front of the USCGC Ingham Museum Ship at the foot of Southard Street. Festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. with the Blowing of the Sacred Conch Shell and live music. The hurricane flag burning ceremony begins at 5 p.m., followed by a Conch Republic Military Forces reception aboard the Ingham.
