The Upper Keys’ 49th annual salute to America’s independence kicks off with the Pirate, Parrots & Patriots community parade beginning 10 a.m. at MM 98.2 on the northbound side and ending at Key Largo Community Park, 561 St. Croix Place. Enjoy a day of fun starting at 11 a.m. at the Family Freedom Picnic at the park with a kids’ activity zone, food vendors and more. For the fireworks over Blackwater Sound, popular viewing spots include business facing the water including Sundowners, Jimmy Johnson’s Big Chill, Caribbean Club, and Rowell’s Community Park.
