34th Annual Schooner Wharf Minimal Regatta

Loading Events

The offbeat Minimal Regatta is a Memorial Day weekend tradition that takes place Sunday, May 25 midday at Schooner Wharf Bar, 202 William St. Participants build watercraft out of a single sheet of plywood, two 8-foot long two-by-fours, a roll of duct tape and some fasteners. Competitors paddle it out trying to make it to the finish link without sinking. Hilarity ensues as races take place in the kayak/canoe and open design divisions with many adding wildly creative decorations. Live music and a barbeque round out the afternoon’s action. Registration for participants at 11 a.m.; competition at 1 p.m.
