Hawks Cay Honors Military and First Responders With Annual Heroes Welcome

DUCK KEY, Florida Keys - Hawks Cay Resort, near Marathon in the Florida Keys, is honoring military, fire rescue, police and medical personnel with specially priced rooms and recreational programs as part of an annual Heroes Welcome program.

In its third year, the program features room rates starting from $99 as well as discounts on Dolphin Connection programs, all fishing, diving, water sports and spa treatments between now and Oct. 31, 2011.

At the center of the Heroes Welcome is a "heroes in action" poolside presentation at sunset every Saturday night, showcasing heroic photographs and video imagery set to music, followed by an honorary lighting of the fire pit as a tribute to fallen heroes, as well as those formerly and currently in action.

Hawks Cay has partnered with Firehouse Subs, a chain of fast-casual restaurants, to donate a portion of proceeds to Firehouse Subs' primary charity. The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation provides local fire departments, law enforcement agencies and Emergency Medical Services with needed tools, technology and training.

Regular resort guests can receive a special 20 percent discount on best-available rooms simply by making a donation of $1 or more to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
