Shakey Graves to Headline Key West’s COAST is Clear Music & Arts Festival

KEY WEST, Florida Keys — Critically acclaimed Americana artist Shakey Graves and other indie and folk-rock all-stars are to take center stage during the 2022 COAST is Clear Music & Arts Festival, a Key West grassroots gathering set for Thursday through Sunday, Dec. 1-4.

During the festival’s open-air highlight, scheduled Saturday, Dec. 3, attendees can enjoy live music from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. issuing from alternating stages at the Parade Grounds at Fort East Martello Museum, 3501 S. Roosevelt Blvd. Attractions also are to include food trucks, bars, vendors, street art and a private VIP section.

Co-produced by the Florida Keys’ COAST Projects and the Key West Art & Historical Society, operators of the museum, the day offers attendees a chance to celebrate camaraderie and creativity in an inviting outdoor setting beside the Atlantic Ocean.

Headliner Shakey Graves is to be joined  by national and international favorites Hiss Golden Messenger, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Fruit Bats, Langhorne Slim, Bonny Light Horseman, Neal Francis, Katie Pruitt, Electric Blue Yonder, Lou Hazel, Banshee Tree and Skank. 

As well as the Parade Grounds performances, the festival includes intimate shows at venues ranging from Key West landmarks to watering holes. Among them are the historic San Carlos Institute, 516  Duval St.; Green Parrot Bar, 601 Whitehead St.; Blue Heaven, 729 Thomas St.; and General Horseplay, 423 Caroline St.

Planned festivities include the screening of a documentary by renowned rock photographer Danny Clinch and a VIP concert starring Preservation Hall Jazz Band, a sandlot baseball game, a beach cleanup and a block party in Key West’s picturesque Bahama Village.

The festival is to conclude Sunday, Dec. 4, with a day and evening of music at the San Carlos Institute.

Cost for single-day general admission passes to the Parade Grounds performances is $125 per person. Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Four-day VIP passes are $495 per person, with offerings including access to special VIP events and reserved Parade Grounds seating and amenities.
