FLORIDA KEYS — Through Oct. 16, families can explore Florida Keys attractions, tours, watersports and other offerings with a value-added program that provides free admission or opportunities for children ages 12 and under. Called Kids Free Florida Keys, the program was created by the Key West Attractions Association.

Families can go to KidsFreeFloridaKeys.com to download coupons for visits to nature-themed and historic attractions, restaurants and activities ranging from snorkel tours to aquarium explorations. The site features links to participating businesses and information about their offerings.

Each child must be accompanied by at least one paying adult.

“The Kids Free program was created to introduce children to ‘only in the Keys’ experiences in a way that’s cost-effective for parents,” said Monica Muñoz, executive director of the association. “Sharing these activities can create lasting memories for families and extended families.”

Participating Kids Free attractions and museums in Key West and the Lower Keys include the Conch Tour Train, Key West Aquarium, Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory, Oldest House Museum & Gardens, Key West Shipwreck Treasure Museum, Old Town Trolley, Key West Tropical Forest and Botanical Garden, Sails to Rails Museum and Harry S. Truman Little White House.

Among other Key West offerings are snorkeling and sunset excursions from Fury Water Adventures, gifts for kids from Sebago Watersports and value-added dining opportunities from Pinchers Crab Shack and the Hard Rock Café.

In the Middle Keys, kids can enjoy complimentary general admission to Dolphin Research Center and Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters.

Kids Free coupons are valid seven days per week but cannot be combined with other offers.
