‘Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing!’ Combines Learning on the Water With Screamin’ Reels Tournament June 11-13

ISLAMORADA, Florida Keys — "Ladies, Let's Go Fishing!" provides female anglers a learn-on-the-water weekend of education combined with the fun Screamin’ Reels tournament to be held in the Florida Keys' sport fishing capital of Islamorada Friday through Sunday, June 11-13.

All participants — ladies, men and teens — are invited to put responsible angling into practice and apply learned fishing skills in nonintimidating offshore and inshore competition. The easy-rules tournament is perfect for novices while also enabling experienced lady anglers to polish angling skills.

A popular girls' getaway for 20-plus years, the educational weekend kicks off Friday with a presentation on offshore fishing and conservation, plus a 6-8 p.m. meet and greet at the Tavernier Elks Club, mile marker 92 bayside.

Saturday and Sunday (optional) are fishing days, learning on the water and friendly angler competition. Charter boats depart from Islamorada’s Whale Harbor Marina, mile marker 83.4, and anglers can fish from their own boats or use the charters supplied by event organizers.

Prizes are to be awarded for inshore and offshore species and releases including Heaviest Fish Overall, Offshore Billfish Release, Party Boat Award, Longest Inshore Fish, wild card prizes and more.

"Our popular Keys events offer a unique vacation getaway where women can learn, network and enjoy the fabulous Florida Keys and its remarkable fishing," said Betty Bauman, LLGF founder.

Bookings for charter guides and boats fill quickly, so early registration is encouraged. Spaces remain for an online rate of $89 per adult and $45 for teenagers age 13 and up. Charter fishing is additional.
