Compass Rose Charters

Went out in the afternoon with Capt Mike and it did NOT disappoint! He had us on fish within minimum of putting the lines out. We fished for tuna until we could not catch anymore. Then we fished for wahoo and watched the sun set. Capt Mike told us to take some of our catch to Kaya Island Eats and the Chef would make us a three course meal with it. It was so delicious and rewarding to eat what we worked hard to catch. Highly recommend!!!!!

Short version: book direct, call the night before to confirm. Totally worth it!

We scheduled with the concierge at Casa Marina, he highly recommended the Windy Day. If we could do it over I would have booked direct, since our trip never got communicated to the captain. We showed up and called since no one was there, thankfully Captain Mike was able to set aside his plans for the day to take my wife and I fishing. We moved our trip back by an hour, and Captain Mike took us on the Compass Rose. It was a great time running 30 miles offshore and over 70 miles total to track down some dolphin (Mahi Mahi not flipper as Capt Mike said). Pulled in some nice fish and a few tiny ones and kept enough to have a few good meals. We learned a lot, Capt Mike had us be very hands on helping with things. He was patient since we were complete rookies at offshore fishing. I would definitely do it again, such a fun experience!

Went out two days and had a fantastic experience with Captain Tony. First day was 4/15 Friday, left the dock at 5am making the long run 52 miles into the gulf to fish tuna off the shrimp boats. Got to our first shrimp boat and started chumming and within 10 minutes 5 out of 6 anglers were at the rail fighting fish. Pretty much stayed that way for 3 hours and varied slightly with 3 to 4 anglers hooked up at a time continuously. Went through countless very large bonitos trying to get to the Blackfin Tuna. All in all, between 45 - 50 fish hooked and went 10 for 15 on large Blackfin ranging from 20 to our largest at 35 lbs.
Day two was Saturday and we decided to change it up by going for dolphin. Started trolling just past Woods Wall and began catching dolphin within 45 minutes. The catching went on all day as we went 16 for 19 on the dolphin.
Can't thank Capt. Mike enough for setting this charter up and Capt. Tony for his expert advice and skills on the water for our two day epic trip! HAD A BLAST!

Captain Dan picked us up Christmas morning and took us out for an incredible morning. We ended up at one of his favorite locations and proceeded to lose two Goliath grouper. That was a challenge not just to us, but to Dan as well. Let's go get it. And we did. A 250 pounder to the surface. Took a pic and sent him home to the bottom. But we came he with spanish mackerel and snapper - yellowtail, mangrove and mutton. Great trip, great captain, great time. We will do it again!

Awesome time catching fish with Captain Mike. He was incredibly knowledgeable and a great guide. He had plenty of entertaining fish tales to go along with it all. I highly recommend Mike and his crew.

By far the best Charter in the entire Keys!!! Capt Mike is unlike other Captains - he will go wherever to find the fish & ensure your trip is worthwhile - whether it's dolphin, tarpon, deep dropping on wrecks or my favorite; Sailfish - you WILL have one helluva time!!! Not only will you have fun but you will learn more in one trip with Capt Mike than numerous ones with other charters. And his boat - well lets just say, it'll get you where you need to go fast and it's a smooth ride too!!

Hey Mike thanks again for the trip we had a great time! We were a little worried about picking a guide because there were so many. But after the trip we had no question that we picked the right guide. If you are reading this because you are looking for a guide this is your guy! He is very professional, friendly, and an extremely nice clean boat. We are coming back next year and will be booking you again so get ready Mike.

Mike is simply the best! We have been out with him two different times and it was a delight both times. We caught massive fish and had a great time doing it. I can not recommend him enough! I have 3 teenage boys and they could not stop talking about how much fun they had. Thanks Mike!
