FLORIDA KEYS RECOVERY LODGING SITE
INFORMATION & TRAINING

This site will be a resource for the local community to find emergency accommodations in the aftermath of a storm or emergency in the Florida Keys. It will help FEMA, utility crews, local officials, insurance adjusters, displaced residents, emergency responders and relief workers find rooms and services available from our local lodging properties who have available resources.

Florida Keys Recovery Lodging websiteThe Recovery Lodging site is live, but not yet actively promoted. In the event the site is needed, it will be promoted to the local community in partnership with Monroe County officials: links from the TDC and Monroe County Emergency Management websites, social media, radio, email and other appropriate channels.

The site is powered by Ripe (the TDC’s no-cost, no-commission booking engine vendor). The Ripe extranet CRS (central reservation system) will ‘mirror’ property information from automated feeds (SABRE, Expedia, etc.) so Recovery listings are live to the local community even when visitor listings in the Booking Engine are turned off.

Property Teams:

  1. Please review the Recovery Lodging training deck and video walkthrough recording
  2. If your property is not yet in Ripe/TDC Booking Engine, please contact partners@fla-keys.com to get set up
  3. If your property is already in Ripe/TDC Booking Engine and you would NOT like your property included on the Recovery Lodging site, please let our team know (partners@fla-keys.com)
  4. Ensure your team is trained and ready as soon as possible, so you are ready in advance of an impending storm

If the Recovery Site needs to be activated post-storm, your property team will need to log-in to the Ripe backend system and make updates to the promotion/room block section, as outlined in the training, so your property information is accurate:

  • Available room types, quantities & rates
  • Availability of power, food, water, parking, wifi
  • Detailed information & contact numbers that can help local officials & emergency management

We recommend that wherever possible, your property grant access and provide training to team members in several locations, in the event your local Florida Keys contacts are without power or Internet access.

The TDC/Visit Florida Keys team and the support team at Ripe will be available to help lodging teams make updates to their property information if needed during the recovery period.

If you have questions or would like a walkthrough for your team – please contact:
