MERCURY REDBONE TOURNAMENT SET FOR NOV. 6-8

ISLAMORADA, Florida Keys — The Mercury Redbone Tournament, which teams anglers with celebrities to catch redfish and bonefish, is set to take place Friday through Sunday, Nov. 6-8, at the Islander Resort, mile marker (MM) 82.1 oceanside. The tournament is the final leg of a trilogy of fundraising tournaments that benefits cystic fibrosis research.

Events are set to begin Thursday, Nov. 5, with early registration for anglers, guides and celebrities, as well as a welcome reception for Mercury guides hosted by longtime sponsor Mercury Marine. Thursday also features the registration and kick off for the Florida Keys Outfitters Superfly at the Islander Resort’s Tiki Patio Bar.

Superfly action is to begin at 6:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, with a continental breakfast served at the Lorelei dock, MM 82 bayside. Boats can depart the Lorelei at 7 a.m., and fishing continues until lines-out at 3 p.m.

A cocktail party and awards presentation are scheduled for 5 p.m. dockside.

The official Mercury Redbone social is to start with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m. at the Islander Resort Conference Center, followed by dinner and a live auction at the Redbone tent.

Anglers can begin their pursuit of redfish and bonefish Saturday after a 7 a.m. blessing of the fleet. Lines-out is set for 3 p.m. A dockside celebrity party is to run 3-5 p.m. All dockside events are presented by the Lorelei, the event’s dockside host.

Sunday’s fishing competition begins with a continental breakfast at 6 a.m. and boat departure at 6:30 a.m. Lines-out is at 3 p.m. and the dockside celebrity party is to run 3-5 p.m.

Cocktails, a silent auction and an awards banquet are to be held at the Islander Resort. The tournament is a qualifier for the Florida Keys Outfitters/International Game Fish Association Inshore World Championship.
